Re: Radial mast Changes
John, my recollection is that the class voted for a carbon fiber upper mast
for use with the radial rig in September '99, at the same time they voted
for the new downhaul, outhaul and vang systems. The expectation was that the
new mast will provide improved sail shape for the radial rig. Most of the
class members I talked to in the weeks before votes were cast planned to
vote for the new material. One exception was a good friend who was opposing
it on the basis "they'll make us all change". He lost.
