US Laser Masters
US LASER MASTERS NATIONALS
SEVERN SAILING ASSOCIATION,
ANNAPOLIS, MD.
80 LASERS MASTERS MADE THE REGATTA AND 10 OF THEM ARE WOMEN!
THE WINDS WERE LIGHT AND THE SUN WAS SHINING BRIGHT ON THE CHESAPEAKE BAY.
The winds were so light that the racing was abandoned for the day. The call
was a tough one for Sandy Grosvener the PRO. After waiting and watching for
that look on the surface of the bay, there was not much to do but scull or
be towed back to SSA.
The sailors are in from Canada, California, Florida and all over the east
coast.
Although the wind is light after the swift Northerly on Thursday, the
regatta spirit is high. Luke, Susan and the SSA laser fleet are doing a
terrific job of taking care of us.
We are being fed wonderful food and drink. Keiran is set to prepare a feast
for us tonight.
The air temp is a cool 65 this Saturday morning in Annapolis City Dock. The
wind forecast is well, another light one. The waiting is pleasant but we
are eager to race amongst some fine master laser sailors.
Dave Hartman and Michelle Davis came up from Florida. They are enjoying the
cool dry autumn temps.
While we are waiting on the wind, we are certainly taking in plenty of
socializing, good coffee, always fixing up our lasers.
The judging crew, folks from Texas- Austin Yacht Club and Houston Yacht
Club, made up about 8 crew- and a few judges in training. Everyone was ready
for the racing yesterday and we are just waiting for the wind to crank up,
just a few points.
See you again racing soon!]
