[Fwd: 2005 Laser Radial Worlds]

The Notice of Race and charter information for the Laser Radial World
Championship is now posted at www.laserinternational.org.
<http://www.laserinternational.org.%A0/> This includes a list of the
number of places available for each country.

Women's Championship:
As a result of the Laser Radial being selected as the women's Olympic
single-handed equipment for 2008 we are obviously seeing increased
women's entries. Being Olympic equipment also gives us certain
obligations to provide a fair system of place allocation to all
countries. We have the experience of the men's equipment and therefore
we propose to use the same basis for the women.

We have therefore set aside 100 charter Lasers for the Women's fleet who
will race a qualifier series in two separate fleets before being split
into gold and silver. The women's fleet will sail only in equipment
supplied by the organisers (the same as the standard rig).

The allocation of places is based on overall class membership for each
country. Places will be allocated via the national class association who
may delegate selection or allocation to their national authority. A
list of allocations is attached. Following the experience of the
standard rig fleet in this post Olympic year we expect that not all
countries allocated places will send entries.

The list allocations will not guarantee a place. National Class
Association's must apply to ILCA office for entry numbers which have to
be used within two weeks of the allocation. If the entry number is not
used within this period it will be cancelled and re-allocated to others
who may be on a waiting list. This is to avoid problems we had with the
standard rig worlds and to give a good opportunity for countries that
require extra places to no well enough in advance.

*Only applications received before 16 September will guarantee a place.
After this date applications will be dealt with subject to availability.

*ONLY National Associations may apply for allocated, unallocated and
extra places by emailing office@laserinternational.org giving the name
of the sailor requiring a place and their email address and contact
phone numbers. In each country it will up to National Associations to
prioritise places. In the case that a national association is not able
to decide a priority list then ILCA, at it's sole discretion, will use
regatta results where possible to decide a priority. It is unlikely that
a sailor who cannot demonstrate previous experience in a Laser Radial
will be allocated an additional place.

When a National Laser Association applies for an unallocated or extra
places the name of the sailor will be placed on a waiting list. As boats
become available the sailors on the waiting list will be advised directly.

Men's and Youth Championship:
A limited number of charter boats are available on a first come first
served basis which may be applied for by individuals. Please email
office@laserinternational.org for a charter reservation number.
