Laser 4.7 Worlds entry deadlines

The Laser 4.7 World Championship will be held in Barrington, Rhode
Island, this Summer, August 6-13, 2005!!

The entry deadlines are fast approaching:
1) The entry closing date is June 20, less than 12 days away!
2) Late Entries will be accepted up to July 11 (but come with an
approximately $75 late fee - 40 pounds).

If you are 12-17 years old then here is the perfect opportunity to sail
a Laser World Championship at a venue within North America (and for
those of you in the Northeast, within easy driving range!). This is a
seriously competitive event, having drawn over 300 boats to the
championship last year in Italy. And the sailors at the top of this
fleet now are going to be the names you read in all the sailing rags
after the next Olympics.

While the event at Barrington will not be as large as last year in
Italy, you can bet that the foreign sailors coming to this event
represent a very competitive group. This is the perfect regatta to start
getting that international experience that separates the very top of the
North American Laser fleet from the rest of us...

Finally, as a World Championship with lots of international sailors,
this is also the perfect event to meet new people from all over the
world. Friendships made in the Laser Class seem to last through life,
here is a great chance to meet new friends that you will be sailing
with/against for a very long time. While the event is competitive,
because of the large group of international sailors, it will also be
loads of fun in ways that you can't get at a local or regional event in
North America.

The official Laser 4.7 Worlds website is located at:
http://www.barringtonyc.com/2005laser4.7worlds.htm where you can get
more information and find the links for registering. Don't wait until
after June 20 when you have to also pay the late fee!

In addition, don't forget some of the lead up events to the 4.7 Worlds:

1) Atlantic Coast Championship at Brant Beach (a great club and place to
sail)
2) Canadian Championships at Trois-Rivieres, QE
3) Laser 4.7 North Americans at Sail Newport
