Executive Committee

Dear NA Laser Class;

The word is out that I am nominated for the Member-At-Large position.

My work as a laser fleet captain, Seabrook Sailing Club, (District 15) and
current role as District 11 Secretary creates a valuable set of credentials,
experience and contributions to the laser class as a whole.

I recently organized the Laser Masters Atlantic Coast Championships in
Delaware. It was a tremendously successful event despite the threat of
serious tropical weather from Hurricane Ivan. I learned a few valuable
planning lessons. I owe credit to fellow class members for spending time
explaining things to me and stepping in to provide their services and
knowledge. 51 laser sailors descended on Delaware, from the beginner laser
sailor to the seasoned master, from the age of 36 to 77.

I also do everything I can to provide assistance, information and
encouragement to maintain and support laser racing.
In recent years I have been watching and listening and learning about the
dynamics of the laser class operations, officers, district secretaries and
fleet captains.
In the past 2 years I made more headway in learning about class management,
communications, and laser reporting by working with closely with James
Appel.

I would continue to do so as a member of the executive committee. And it
would be really excellent to work with the current nominees and help move
the laser class along and have a good time doing the work.

To the district secretaries, please vote me in. To the laser sailor, ask
your district secretary to vote me in.

Thankyou,
JuneRose Futcher, "JR"
District 11 Secretary
