Re: The Race + Light v. Heavy

John,
regarding weight gain and fitness I think you can't go past "Sail Fit:
Sailing Fitness and Training" by Dr Michael Blackburn. He recently won
the Laser Bronze in Sydney. His contact details are on his website.

Hi all,

There's a pretty good new sailing site recently launched at www.madforsailing.com It has lots of
articles, and I can see it developing into a great resource. OK it is
a bit
British based, but even so worth checking out.
As for the light guy v heavy guy thing, I think it's great we have
such a
mixture in our fleets. I'm only 147 pounds, but managed to get good
enough
results over a season in varied conditions to pick up a couple of pots
(I
only have the standard rig). I would like to try to put on a 'stone'
(that's
British for 14 pounds) or so for next season as well as raise my
overall
fitness in an attempt to do better in some of the local open meets.
I'm 5'
10" so can definately gain that weight without becoming a total
lardarse.
Any suggestions for fairly quick weight gain?

   Cheers

       John
