Hey,
All I want to do was sell my boat so I can get a new one. And since the
classifieds page hasn't been updated in over a month, I thought the Quiet
laser list, as many of you have observed, might be of help to me. And I am
sure the majority of people on this list wet-sand and McLube to try to get an
edge. Our fleets are so tight that to win, an edge is needed. Whether it be
pure sailing ability, which would be everyone's dream, or a mental edge that
the wet-sanding you belabored over for hours makes you faster. But if
everything and everyone were exactly the same, all we would do is tie, get
bored, and move onto IMS racing. And by faired, I meant wet-sanded, not that
I changed the shape.
I agree that going to regattas to learn from others is great and
essential, but to win, the victor must have an edge that no one else does.
So now I move onward into the winter and I wait for the summer to arrive
so I can race my Laser. Obviously Fred and I have differing opinions on what
makes a boat fast and what we want to see the class become. But the one thing
that is unanimous is we both love to sail our little boats.
And as in my other message:
Anyone wanna buy my boat?
