Re: Steel Centreboard

Hi,

Steel reinforcement wires ARE currently used by the manufacturers and
are class-legal as they come from the builder. Repairs are legal subject
to the spirit and text of the Class Rules.

The book "Laser Sailing for the 1990s" by Dick Tillman shows the
centerboard reinforcement wires on page 109. However, the diagram will
not necessarily correspond to the locations of the wires on all
centreboards.

You can check out the article "Fixing Broken Daggerboard and Rudder
Corners" by David Heinbockel in the "Maintenance & Fitness" section of
the drLaser web site for further information and the locations of the
wires on Laser 128447.

(It is an ILCA Members only article.)
