News that's no news anymore: NEW LASER FLEETS DIRECTORY

Hi,

I took about a month off work and redid the whole "Laser Fleet
Directory". It no longer is "beta", and it should no longer present
peculiar problems to Laserites with MACs. (But I can never be sure.)

The Directory now uses just one window rather than opening thousands of
windows upon launching...

Also, the data now securely stays on the server side, thanks to some
very useful scripting consulting by Jeff Weisberg of NETREACH - another
proud Philadelphia Laserfleet sailor and Class Member.

A FORM is available for ANYONE (member or non-member) to make on-line
corrections or additions to the primary fleet/club information. 

The "Sailing Area Details" section of each fleet (nautical charts,
surface wind forecast maps, current/tide tables, racing tips, satellite
and radar imagery, SIs, etc.) is for ILCA Members only, and hence only
ILCA Members are allowed to make revisions there. 

Now it's time to start adding the USA Fleets into the database. Over the
next several months, I'm hoping to add a few fleets every day, starting
along the USA-Canada border.

ALSO:

This stuff is going to take quite some space (about 50 MB) when done. 
Are there any Laserites out there who might be interested in hosting the
Fleet Directory?  We're running out of space at Rooster Graphics. Is
there space on www.laser.org ??? (Will???)

ALSO:

The software is portable: it can be easily customized for any district
(or Class, for that matter.) So, if there are any List Members out there
from the different corners of the world who may think this software may
be useful for their country, just have your ILCA District contact me...
