How far below the Hull can(should) the bobstay strut extend? My memory tells me 4" but I'm not sure and I can't get the spec page of the website up on this computer. I'm installing an aluminium socket instead of just a hole in the wood and I need to shorten the strut. Any pros or cons to going max length vs. clearance with the ice? Like an idiot I changed everything before measuring my old set up. Thanks in advance for any help.
