Chicago area sailors:
Sailing starts the first weekend in December in MN, weather permitting. In order to speed up aspiring Chicago area DN sailors, I would like to offer my shop two Sunday evenings in November, and if interest dictates, two Wednesday evenings each month beginning in December. November start time is 4:30, chip in for Pizza, Free coffee, Bring other beverages. Donations of cash, sanding belts or Gougeon epoxy required if we work on your parts, to cover expendatures only.
Clinic 1: Boat alignment and basic set-up. Bring your best runners, hull and plank, or come and observe how I check alignment on some else's boat.
Clinic 2: Runner sharpening and profiling. Bring one set of runners. My belt sander, light box and laser straightness checking gear.
My shop is a single car garage converted to airplane and iceboat construction. There is room to set up one boat at a time.
