All that technical stuff aside, I just put the floor system in the boat I'm building using the conventional slat design. It took about 30 minutes to scratch my head figuring out what to do and how to do it, another 30 minutes to cut and fit the parts, and a final 30 minutes to glue it in place. The hardest part was molding the filets to look as nice as they do in the drawings.
